By Beverly Stuber, Coordinator, OMA Artist Alliance ---- The Buena Vista Audubon Nature Center, 2202 So. Coast Highway, Oceanside, invites the public and friends to attend its first annual ART WALK scheduled for Nov. 14, 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. The event titled “Connecting Art and Nature” will allow attendees to view nature exhibits at the Center and enjoy the art of local North County artists as they tour the premises and lagoon trails. Art of all types and styles will be scattered throughout the Center and the viewing areas alongside the lagoon. Art may also be seen on two new observation platforms recently erected to enhance enjoyment of the natural habitat of the lagoon. A new connecting bridge will allow easy access to the viewing platforms. There is no charge to the public, and light refreshments will be available. Comfortable footwear is advisable. The Oceanside Art Gallery, located at 602 Mission Ave. in Oceanside, will hold a new exhibit of art by members of the OMA Artist Alliance and local artists starting Nov. 10 through Dec. 19. This exhibit will include smaller art as well as larger pieces, all with a maximum price of $300. Both two- and three-dimensional pieces are being shown. A reception to celebrate the opening of the exhibit will be held Nov. 13, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., at the gallery. Artists will be on hand to greet visitors, and refreshments will be provided by gallery owners Mary and Joseph Villela. The public is invited, and there is no charge. Gallery hours are Tuesdays - Fridays, noon to 4 p.m. Other viewings are available by appointment.
