Whew! The kids are back in school and so are some of us. Every now and then, a cool breeze blows -- and there is just slight a feel of fall in the air. It’s time to start now planning the holiday fun for the coming months. Well, not quite yet, but better now than in a last minute panic, right?

Here are some dates to put in your calendar now, and, when your out-of-town guests arrive, you will be way ahead of the game.

The California Center for the Arts, Escondido has gone all out this year to kick off an exciting lineup of wonderful music. There is something for every taste from ‘Celtic Spring,’ Sept 14, 3 p.m.; to ‘Ultimate Broadway,’ Sept 20; to Rickie Lee Jones, Sept 26, 8 p.m.

In October, look forward to ScrapArtMusic, The Songs of Johnny Mercer, Amy Grant and Vince Gill. Of course, there is much more, so either call 800-988-4253 or visit www.artcenter.org for all the details.

Theatrx of Escondido continues its Third Friday Blues bringing in a legend we all love, Bill Magee and his fabulous band, on Sept. 19. Reservations for this show are highly recommended. Call 760-809-4499 to reserve and buy $10 tickets.

If you like College Football and Reggae, now that’s a mix. You may want to head out to the Pacific Bar & grill located at 860 Garnet Ave., SD 92109; call them at 858-272-7278 for details or visit http://pbbarandgrill.com.

If you like Blues, prepare for the Third Annual Hot Blues Engines Festival, coming up on Oct. 25, 3 p.m. to 8 p.m., in Escondido. We are talking about a day of Blues and Zydeco, with catfish plates Memphis style and five bands. Robin Henkle, The Fremonts, Billy Lee and the Swamp Critters, Nathan and Ben Hernandez, and L.A. Jones. A portion of the proceeds will go to support CCHAT Center San Diego, www.cchatsan.org (located in San Marcos). Visit their website to learn more of the fine work they do for the hearing impaired. To purchase the $27.50 tickets, call 760-809-4499.

Now I want to introduce you to a great Band. BURNSVILLE. I know you will love them; go to their website, www.burnsvilleband.com and see and hear for yourself. Pick a date from their calendar, gather a few friends -- and it will be on!

See you out there; enjoy the fall.
