Bluegrass and Ice Cream Social Planned at Historic Rancho Buena Vista Adobe

The Friends of the Rancho Buena Vista Adobe host the fifth annual Bluegrass and Ice Cream Social on Sunday, July 27, from 4 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. The nationally acclaimed traditional bluegrass band, Virtual Strangers, www.virtualstrangersbluegrass.com, will perform. Tickets are $10 per person and include an ice cream sundae or root beer float.

Purchase online at: www.vistixonline.com; by phone at 760-726-2114; or in person at the box office at 600 Eucalyptus Ave. Tickets are also available at the La Tiendita gift shop at the Rancho and can be purchased at the door. About Bluegrass

The roots of bluegrass music go back to the American immigrant experience of the 1600s, including dance music and ballads from Ireland, Scotland and England, as well as African American gospel music and blues.

About the Rancho Buena Vista Adobe

The Rancho Buena Vista Adobe, 640 Alta Vista Drive, Vista, is part of an historic California land grant where the glory days of legendary rancho life will enchant you. Docent tours led by the Friends of the Adobe are available Thursday through Saturday, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. To join the Friends, sign-up for docent training or to be a gift shop volunteer, call 760-941-7639.
