Mary Beth Francis, publisher of the North County Voice, has spent more than 27 years in the community newspaper field.
Her first experience in publishing was producing a monthly newspaper for the Minnesota State Snowmobile Association; from there, she worked at several community newspapers, to include Pioneer Press newspapers in Chicago and the former Sun Newspaper chain here in San Diego.
Having extensive experience as both an editor and in layout and graphics, she applies a broad range of talents to each of her publications. She is also experienced in marketing, promotion and sales.
“The North County Voice is a true community newspaper,” said Francis. “It is published for residents of North County San Diego and targets local neighborhood news events. Continual expansion is planned in the future to reach full North County saturation.”
Currently, Francis also produces the monthly Oceanside and Escondido Chambers of Commerce newspapers, as well as a variety of quarterly business publications. She produced the former San Marcos Chamber of Commerce newspaper for some eight years.
“We’d enjoy hearing from you,” said Francis. “Tell us what you like or dislike about our newspapers, new sections you’d like to see added - share your story ideas, news about your organization’s events. Let’s work together to make the papers reflect all that is great about North County.” |
